Here's the flyer Judy rigged up for the beginner class. If you can't get it to expand to a legible size, please me know. If you can actually see it, what do you think? We keep forgetting to ask the class if any of them came in response to the flyer.

Neat flyer Empty Not folk dance

Post  denismurf Mon Oct 20, 2008 1:05 pm

Sonia asked why I avoid using the term folk dance.

The community college administrators who approved the beginner courses in both St. Louis and here in Seattle strongly advised me to use any other term to describe the international, primarily Balkan, material I was going to teach. They said they themselves and the community in general assumed that folk dance meant cutesy, square dance-like stuff that their grandparents did for recreation in their retirement homes. I took their advice.

I love the little tear-off mini-ads. Does anyone ever take them? And have people signed up in response to the flyer?
